Andhra Government Plans A Digital Entertainment City; To Partner With Biggies

By Nikhil Pahwa - Tue 22 Jan 2008 03:31 AM PST

[By Cerius Shah] The Andhra Pradesh government in collaboration with FXlabs, Suresh productions, Gemini TV and DQ Entertainment is attempting a Media City of sorts. Around 100 to 200 acres of land in and around Hyderabad will be ear marked for the proposed Digital Entertainment City. Within the confines of these gaming, film production houses, music studios and training academies amongst others will be built. A team has been formed to oversee the project with an expected start date sometime in June.

Hyderabad is home to big studio houses that power Tollywood, the Telegu cinema industry, second in size to Bollywood. It has a thriving developer community where, according to legend, cat calls for PHP developers are answered in hordes. More on statements by secretary to the AP government here at Techtree.

    Nikhil,

The “legend” about the php developers is a big-entertaining lie.

Recently we called out for php developers for our organization, we recieved only 5 resumes. We went through local consulting companies, we got another 15.

After we were done with interviews, we found that most of them, were faking their experiance and have no idea, what so ever, about usage of LAMP.

Anyways, that place does have some hype factor…
