AOL Launches Indian Version Of Men’s Portal Asylum

By Cerius Shah - Fri 06 Jun 2008 05:10 AM PST

AOL (NYSE: TWX) has launched the Indianized version of its international men’s lifestyle site, Asylum.in. Although the release claims the Indian site to have customized content, there is nary an Indian feature besides the welcome post. Most of the content is currently being syndicated from the US version of the site. The individual sections, such as Bollywood, plug in content from the AOL Bollywood vertical. We asked AOL on their content plans for India and they have been tight-lipped on the same. Doesn’t seem to be a large team by the volume of content, essentially being a new skin for content being syndicated from the other Asylum properties. The site has a Facebook group here. Other men sites currently in the space include MensXpert and the online version of Mans World, FHM and Maxim.

We have asked for more details, updates as we have it.
