The US-based comic giant Archie Comics Entertainment is firming up its India plans. It is gearing up to launch local language content in India, besides an animation series featuring its characters. The company is in talks with three Indian animation studios for the production of the series.
Archie, which also plans to bring its library of 250 episodes of Archie animation series to India, is in talks with broadcasters like Star TV, Sony and Cartoon Network for airing the 26-episode half hour animation series. What it is also looking at is the digital media platforms - like mobile, web zones, video games, comic videos, games, and so on. “We need to have every media and bring the right kind of synergy with all vehicles combined to hit the market,” Archie Entertainment (AE) President Steven R Herman told DNA.
As for pushing the retail sales, the company has tied up with Star Licensing and Merchandising division.
