Educomp To Provide Microsoft India With Educational Content For Xbox360

By Nikhil Pahwa - Wed 05 Sep 2007 02:17 AM PST

Microsoft India has inked a deal with Delhi based Educomp for providing educational content on the xBox 360, reports Techshout. Content on offer includes Math, Social Studies and Science, for students from classes III to XII. Game developer Lakshya Digital will create educational products for the xBox 360 platform.

There’s no comment on how much this content will be priced at..if at all. I wouldn’t be suprised if MS uses this to position the xBox 360 as an educational tool, and offers some of that content free with the xBox. After all, they have to combat the perception that gaming takes kids away from studies. That’s something that the PC itself had to deal with many years ago. At that point in time, I think the HCL became the first to position the PC as a learning tool with the Beanstalk PC.
