Expedia Planning For Jan 2008 India Launch

Global Online Travel company Expedia reportedly has plans to launch its portal India in Jan 2008, offering both domestic and international travel, reports Mint. I just checked and the company has registered the domain Expedia.in. Expedia and Travelocity, which has plans for offering air tickets by next month, are entering a marketplace that is already very crowded, competing to offer better deals at their own expense, and struggling to make a profit. Of course, as is the case with VC funded portals, Expedia and Travelocity had play the long term game and wait for consolidation to take place.
