FX Labs Launches PC Game; Ties Up With Sify, Zapak

By Nikhil Pahwa - Sun 24 Feb 2008 07:36 PM PST

FX Labs has launched Agni, it’s first PC adventure game featuring Bollywood celebrity Malaika Arora Khan as the protagonist. Agni is a third person shooter Role Playing Game, with 10 stages and four characters. The game is priced at Rs. 699 and is being retailed online at the FX Labs website and Sify, at a 21 percent discount (Rs. 549). Sashi Reddy, founder and Chairman of FX Labs says in the release that online distribution will help them reach out to consumers across the country. The company has also tied up with Zapak for promotion - Zapak will allow users to sample the game through a 60 minute trial version. I couldn’t find a link for trying out Agni at Zapak’s microsite for the game. Zapak and Sify will also promote the game offline - Zapak at its Gameplex’ in 11 cities, and Sify at their 200 Gamedromes. One unfortunate thing about the game: it’s not compatible with Windows Vista, and this is at a time when MS is going all out to make people to switch to its new memory hogging, user-unfriendly OS. FX Labs has a tie-up with Archie Comics for PC Games, and is also producing a game around the movie Dhoom 2.

Update: A Zapak spokesperson informs us that they’re working on enabling the 60 minute trial, which will be up soon.

Following your blog almost daily , this is like my first post though.

Why do indian companies or developers in India try to bundle games (mobile or pc) with bollywood actresses? Cant they make games which can sell by themselves?

    Wonderful post
Zapak has been expaning a lot, lately.
I was a total addict at Indiagames until Zapak came.
The range and quality of games available at Zapak is just mindblowing. And to top it all, they now support it with offline events like Gameplexes.
What I discoverd was that you can even embed their games as widgets in your blog. I tested one.
    Here is the link

Although I have not yet started utilizing the full potential, I can see this adding a lot of value to gaming bloggers.
Would like to see your comments about the same on my blog.
    :D
