Gautam Adhikari, editor of Mumbai’s second largest selling newspaper DNA, has resigned. The company’s managing director Sudhir Agarwal will take over as the editor till a replacement is found. Adhikari will be associated with the paper till July. Adhikari hasn’t cited any specific reasons for his resignation. This is what he told Agencyfaqs.com: “I am 57 now and have to do a lot of other things in life.”
Adhikari went to DNA from The Times of India, where he was a senior editor. He was earlier a teacher in the US , and had also occupied the post of executive editor of The Times of India in the 1990s. DNA under Adhikari’s leadership has grown to become the number two newspaper in Mumbai. It even upstaged the hugely successful Mid-Day newspaper in Mumbai in the recent readership survey.
