Indiatimes Offers Mobile Application For Cricket Updates

Indiatimes has launched a GPRS based mobile application called Cricket Center (or is it Cricket Station - in the screen cap?), developed by Mobio Networks. As per the release, the application gets updates of scores, scorecards of present and past games, wagon-wheels, schedules, standings etc. Users can also set their personal preferences and receive up to date scores. The application can be downloaded via a WAP push on sending LIVE via SMS to Indiatimes’ short code 8888. The subscription costs Rs. 99 for the duration of the World Cup - or whatever’s left of it after India got knocked out. I wondering why anyone who has GPRS anyway will prefer to use this application over using GPRS to check for updates on news sites… I found more screencaps on Mobio’s site, here; it’s priced at $4.99 as per their site.
