MySpace India Ropes In Director Of Sales From Google

By Nikhil Pahwa - Thu 13 Mar 2008 07:30 PM PST

After appointing Tarun Tripathi from Yash Raj Films as Director of Marketing and Content, MySpace India has roped in Deep Malhotra of Google (NSDQ: GOOG) as Director of Sales, ContentSutra has learned. Malhotra will report to MySpace VP (Asia) Sung Lee, and his mandate will be setting up a sales team in India. Malhotra was Group Sales Manager at Google, and was reporting to Google India MD Shailesh Rao. I just checked MySpace, and not much appears to have changed - contentwise - since Jan. Indihub, their community for Indians, does appear to have 57445 members at present.

Congratulations to myspace. Deep is an excellent resource and is a pride possession for any organization. I can clearly see a great take-off of myspace in India with such resources

Yes, I know that many of you might be of the opinion that this is a “bought” property, but let me tell you that it is not. A word from near and dear ones is always something that one expects, so writing in here about Deep should come as no surprise.

Having known Deep as a person, I can vouch on the fact that his dedication, and congenial approach towards everything he does and everyone he interacts with makes him a pleasure to be around with. A person with undying passion towards his work, I am sure Deep will take myspace to the highest peaks of glory and success. Congrats mate!

Hey, Long Time Listener Repeat Caller, I think the news of Deep has affected at your wrong place. Have the guts to come up and speak behind whom you are hiding mom, wife or girl friend. I can answer your questions but will not, because you are “Long Time Listener Repeat Caller”

I think all is not well at Google. Its going the same way as Yahoo and days are not far away when Google will see may more resignations under the leadership of Sailesh Rao.
