Rok, BSNL Sign Mobile TV Deal

UK BASED Rok Entertainment signed a deal with mobile operator BSNL to stream TV to regular 2.5G (GPRS) enabled phones. [via The Enquirer]

Indian subscribers can watch six channels - Zoom, entertainment channel Bindaas; Hindi music channel Geet, live Hindi news channel from ETV and English music channel EMN – for Rs. 150 per month. Rok’s technology enables it to video to stream to mobile phones at speeds up to 14 frames per second over 2.5G, although speeds of up to 24 frames per second are also possible over 3G or Wi-fi.
