Sabeer Bhatia’s InstaColl Gets Funding From SoftBank Corp

Hotmail Founder Sabeer Bhatia’s Bangalore based startup InstaColl had received its first round of institutional funding from SoftBank Corporation, Japan. The amount of investment has not been disclosed. Instacoll has also launched Instasecure, a tool is a service which allows business professionals to communicate and collaborate on Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel documents securely over the Internet. Added: the company has also launched InstaSecure, which enabled protection of business documents. More details in the release, here.
Online collaboration isn’t new: Google had acquired Writely and launched Google Documents. Then there’s Chennai based companies - Zoho from Adventnet, which has a whole range of online collaboration tools, and Tracbac which allows visual collaboration.
