TN Prabhu Quits Disney To Join UTV As COO Of United New Media Ventures

By Nikhil Pahwa - Mon 12 Nov 2007 11:24 PM PST

Our mails to TN Prabhu and calls to Disney (NYSE: DIS) on this had not yielded anything, but a release just in from UTV now confirms it: TN Prabhu, Director at the Walt Disney Internet Group, has quit Disney India to join United New Media Ventures, UTVs digital media initiative as COO. Prabhu has 18 years of experience at Times Internet, Rediff, (NSDQ: REDF) Cyber Media and The Hindu. He will report to UTV CEO Ronnie Screwvala. Last month, an anonymous comment had been left to this post at ContentSutra, asserting that Prabhu intends to switch to UTV. Readers should bear in mind that Disney has a 14.85 percent stake in UTV.
