Will the BIG Bang Happen?

By Rafat Ali - Wed 02 Jan 2008 09:05 AM PST

[by Cerius Shah] imageIt has been an eventful year for Reliance Entertainment in the digital space. According to this interview, Zapak is currently the top gaming website on Comscore (NSDQ: SCOR) in India and will be releasing an MMOG this year (more on that separately). He is bullish on the home rental business and believes that BigFlicks will fill in the market gap for ancillary revenues for the movie industry. On Bigadda he states BIG is satisfied with the response. “We already have a million users. We get a million page views a day. We add 12-15,000 users a day.”

A million page views is not a big deal on a social network, there is still a debate whether each profile view counts as a separate entity altogether or merely a page view.

Wonder how many of the million users are still active. Considering Facebook adds close to 100000 users per day, BigAdda’s 12 - 15,000 doesn’t seem too bad. Then again, looking at their current SEM efforts (pictured attached), doesn’t seem like they are garnering views based on their stated competency of user generated content and social networking. Remains to be seen how well BigAdda ports to mobile though.

    Disagree with the you on number interpretation. If Facebook gets 1L globally, 10-15k in India is really awesome.
    Also wonder why the SEM effort is against the user content. They just seem to be pushing interesting content pu up by users. how does that make the click junk or take away from the UGC bandwagon.

    If BigAdda is adding 15000 users per day, they are adding a million in a couple of months… Err.. How long have they been around...?

    Orkut/Facebook gets around 30 views per user, BigAdda gets 5.5… Check Alexa…

    BigAdda = Big Anda.

    15000 users per day makes it a million in two months… they have been around for more than six months i guess…

    also facebook and orkut get 30 pageviews per user.. bigadda gets around 5.

    they are simply wasting money on advertising… agencies (and also media ofcourse) are laughing all the way to the bank i guess..
