Zee News Provides Content To BBC Motion Gallery

By Nikhil Pahwa - Sun 10 Feb 2008 08:58 PM PST

Zee News has tied up with BBC Worldwide, and will be offering its archival content via the BBC Motion Gallery website, reports the HIndu. BBC is among several broadcasters providing content to the motion picture gallery, including CBS (NYSE: CBS) News, NHK Japan, ABC Australia and CCTV Japan.

Zee News probably doesn’t have one third the archival content that DoorDarshan has; last year there had been news of Doordarshan planning a website for content (see related links), but there’s been nothing on that since. The BBCs Motion Picture Gallery has that is DRM protected content as well as showreels, and Royalty Free clips and discs. I tried viewing this clip at the BBC Motion Picture Gallery, and it didn’t work with Firefox; the WMV clip (5.9 mb) downloaded automatically via IE, and was watermarked.
