Aksh OptiFibre Plans To Bring Friday Release Of Bollywood Flicks On IPTV

Cinema houses may need to worry. Aksh Opticfibre, which is one of MTNL’s partners in IPTV sercices, plans to bring bollywood movies directly to home on the day of release itself. The company is talks with a movie distributor and other content companies for airing latest movies on TV on the day of release, reports The Economic Times.
The report quotes Aksh Optifibre managing director K S Choudhari: “In terms of content popularity, Bollywood comes second only to cricket. Therefore, we are planning to introduce latest movie flicks on TV sets through video-on-demand service...we will be able to offer latest movie for just Rs 200.”
Aksh OptiFibre also plans television shopping and interactive educational packages on its IPTV platform.
Aksh also plans to raise $20 million through FCCB or private equity route.
