Etisalat Provides News In Malayalam In The UAE Using Mobile App

When Indi5566 was launched, I’d mentioned that city or state specific content from India would target the expatriate community better. A service from UAE telecom operator etisalat‘s infotainment and community portal Weyak seems to go a step further - they’re providing news from Kerala in Malayalam, via a downloadable application. For the service, available via SMS and GPRS to subscribers in the UAE, etisalat has tied up with UAE based Impact Media which has “a hub” in Kerala. By the middle of December, Weyak intends to offer news from India in English to subscribers in the UAE. [via release]
