By Nikhil Pahwa - Tue 17 Oct 2006 01:11 PM PST

Makemytrip.com is going in for an overhaul, and has selected Nurun Inc. as its “lead interactive agency”.[release]
Supposedly the new design will help convert browsers into buyers and increase the conversion rate, and I’m sure site owners across the world will be watching in anticipation. Makemytrip has different has different designs for its US and India sites, and it seems that this is for the Indian site. So - what happened to Webchutney?

Updated: Sidharth Rao, CEO of WebChutney, responds to the last bit:

Webchutney works with MakeMyTrip as their Search Engine Marketing, Online Analytics and Alternate Marketing Agency (Which includes Viral Marketing and ofcourse the OkTataTataBye.com project). Nothing more nothing less. The current website for MakeMyTrip has not been designed or coded by us. Webchutney and to the best of my knowledge- none of our worthy competitors was in fray or considered for the web re-design project for MakeMyTrip. ‘Why’ would be another story but what I must tell you that we like many other agencies have some ground to cover in terms of skill sets before we can get into the consideration set of being a great “User Experience Design Firm” (not just creative exciting layouts).
So, net net - Webchutney and MakeMyTrip continue to have a great relationship on the stuff we do and we will keep you posted about more of our kick ass work with MMT which is being launched soon grin. Rock on and Happy Diwali!

Sidharth
