MTNL Ties Up With Time Broadband For Content For IPTV

Indiantelevision.com: There are some details on MTNL’s content partner for its IPTV services that are expected to be launched in Mumbai in June. The state-owned telecom major has chosen Time Broadband Services Pvt Ltd, (not part of Bennett, Coleman & Co) to develop and handle the content delivery network for its IPTV services. It has signed a seven-year deal with TBSPL which will have Hewlett Packard as its systems integrator. The company will design and deploy the content delivery network, aggregate and repurpose content, and market and promote the services.
Time Broadband will have Israel-based Infogate Online as its middleware vendor while Verimatrix Inc. will provide content protection solutions. The digital headend will be from Optibase, while Amino and Softier Inc. set-top boxes are being tested.
