US Entertainment Portal Desi Hits Gets $1 Million From Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Trident Capital

San Francisco-based South Asian entertainment channel Desi Hits has received $1 million in Series A round funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ) and Trident Capital (read release). Desi Hits has celebrity interviews, music videos and streaming clips targeted at the South Asian audience in the US. Bollywood, obviously, forms an important part of the content.
In August 2006, WahIndia, another entertainment broadband portal aimed at Indian audience in the US, had received angel funding from a group of undisclosed investors.
